Seeing Anew Part II: Through the Collector’s Eye celebrates a selection of works from the Fisher Art Museum’s permanent collection, offering visitors a renewed look at paintings acquired by Bill and Dorothy Fisher. Their thoughtful collecting reflects a deep appreciation for the arts and has helped shape a lasting cultural legacy for the Marshalltown community.
This exhibition marks the first time these works have been on view since undergoing professional restoration in 2020, presenting a rare opportunity to experience late 19th- and early 20th-century artworks with renewed clarity and appreciation. Viewed through the lens of the collector, the exhibition invites visitors to consider not only the artistry of each piece, but also the care, intention, and passion behind its preservation.
Opening in February, Seeing Anew Part II is a celebration of enduring love for art, for community, and for new beginnings. Whether you are a longtime supporter of the Fisher Art Museum or visiting for the first time, we invite you to experience these works anew.
