(Marshalltown, Iowa) - The Marshalltown Arts & Civic Center (MACC) is excited to spotlight this year’s annual grounds improvements, completed by a team of volunteers from Emerson. Continuing a partnership that has spanned 4 years, Emerson employees spent the first week of May completing a series of grounds beautification and maintenance projects designed to help ready the campus for the summer season.

Leading the effort once again was David Jones, Metrologist at Emerson, whose technical expertise has piloted these volunteer initiatives for years.

“For me, volunteering at the MACC is where creative problem-solving meets a love for our local community,” said Jones. “I’ve always believed that the arts are an integral part of a prosperous community. I find a lot of joy in using my skills to ensure this facility remains a welcoming home for creativity in Marshalltown. It’s an honor to lead a team that values this partnership as much as I do.”

The Emerson team successfully completed several projects, including:

The project will reach its official conclusion this Friday, May 8th, with the final installation of the new flagpole. The MACC invites the Marshalltown community to visit the campus after the 8th to see the improvements firsthand.

"Emerson’s consistent support helps us keep our grounds beautiful and inviting for everyone who visits," said Deb Borton, Chief Operating Officer of the MACC. "Whether you are here for a private event or a tour of the Fisher Art Museum, these volunteer efforts make a tangible difference.”
