POSITION DESCRIPTION:  

Share your passion for music - Become a Music Together® teacher and help us bring the internationally renowned Music Together curriculum to Marshalltown!

If you have a desire to inspire a love of music in young children and support parents in creating a musical life for their little ones, apply to join our dedicated team of teachers.

Music is a universal language. It transcends boundaries and reaches beyond culture to touch the depths of our souls, express our common emotions, and inspire us all.

Grinnell School of Music is seeking charismatic, playful individuals to teach weekly early childhood music and movement classes using the Music Together® curriculum. Comprehensive training and teaching support will be provided.

These classes will take place here at the MACC. This is a part-time, hourly, freelance position. Training will take place over the summer. Once trained, the position will start with preparing for and teaching one weekly 45-minute class on Saturday mornings. As enrollment grows, we anticipate holding up to three weekly classes.  

Qualifications

Preferred but not required:

Training Requirement: To become a Music Together® teacher, you must complete a 25-hour online training with Music Together Worldwide, and a 6-hour apprenticeship with one of our experienced teachers at Grinnell School of Music. The successful applicant will be compensated for training and apprenticeship hours, and mileage to and from Grinnell (for apprenticeship) will be reimbursed.
