Creative local brings event planning expertise to Marshalltown Arts & Civic Center

(Marshalltown, Iowa) - The Marshalltown Arts & Civic Center is pleased to announce as of September, Madisun VanGundy has been appointed as its Events Coordinator. In this role, VanGundy serves as the primary contact for individuals, businesses, and organizations looking to host events at the MACC, a central hub for arts, business meetings, and community gatherings in Marshalltown.
A Marshalltown native, VanGundy brings over six years of experience in marketing, event planning, and public relations. Her professional background includes communications roles with Polk County Health Department, Primary Health Care, and AAA Minneapolis, as well as founding her own social media and marketing business. In each role, she has developed a reputation for creativity, organization, and strong community connections.
“As someone who grew up attending school art shows at what is now the MACC, this role feels especially meaningful,” said VanGundy. “I’m thrilled to now serve the people of Marshalltown and Central Iowa by helping create memorable experiences in this incredible space.”

The Marshalltown Arts & Civic Center is home to the renowned Fisher Art Museum, the historic Martha-Ellen Tye Playhouse, and versatile spaces for public and private events. Originally founded as the Fisher Community Center in 1958, the building was restored following the 2020 derecho and continues to carry forward the legacy of J.W. and Dorothy Fisher in supporting the arts and enriching community life, through the Fisher Governor Foundation of Marshalltown, Iowa.
