J.W Fisher (Bill) was the 3rd generation president of the Fisher Governor Company. He shared the success of the company through his generosity and support of Marshalltown. Between 1940 and 1974, Bill and his wife, Dorothy, became “patrons of the arts” for the community. Together, they did more to promote music, theatre, and creative pursuits than any other citizen in the town’s history. To highlight their passion for the arts, they created and curated an impressive collection of Impressionist art that has become known as the renowned Fisher Impressionist Art Collection.
